THE VOID

A series of surrealist illustrations placing a single human figure inside worlds built exactly one size too large. Cobalt storm skies. Amber light. Objects that float. A figure that never arrives.

The Void — lone figure on an empty stage under amber light
The Void — oversized bed, small figure, storm sky
The Void — giant clock and anonymous figure
The Void — long dinner table set for many, single figure
The Void — figure before an immense doorway
The Void — figure beside an oversized elevator
The Void — staircase to nowhere, small figure
The Void — ladder and figure under storm clouds
The Void — oversized mirror, small figure
The Void — giant telephone, lone figure
The Void — enormous suitcase, anonymous figure
The Void — surreal scene adaptation, figure and scale

The structures were always there. The ladder that goes nowhere. The table set for twenty. The stage with the lights still on.

The Void is a series of surrealist illustrations exploring the specific loneliness that lives inside ambition — not despair, not hope, but the feeling of standing inside something enormous that was supposed to mean more than it does. Each image places a single anonymous figure beside a single oversized object, suspended in storm clouds, lit by amber light that never quite explains itself.

The figure is always small. The object is always wrong. The light is always the thing being approached.
